Creativity is Fueled by Hope

An encouraging word to those who have felt stifled in their creativity after a difficult season:
In the Bible, the concept of hope can be descibed as a rope that is tightly tied to a promised future outcome. However, when we go through difficult seasons, it can seem as if we are untethered to anything substantial–like we are just swinging in the wind. When we seem to have lost our moors, creativity is easily suppressed.
This may be a new thought for some of us, but the purpose of creativity can be described as bringing something into existence that builds structure for an idea, a concept, or a tangible blueprint. This creative "structure" is often the solution needed that speaks to a lifeless, chaotic, or meaningless situation. In otherwords, when you feel as if you are untethered to anything substantial, creativity comes to make a path through the confusion.
This is why creativity is fueled by hope. You have to be able to see the future in order to create anything of value. If you are untethered, you do not know what to create.
In the Bible, we learn that our hope is securely anchored to the promises of Jesus. And, the beautiful thing about Jesus is that He is faithful and true. Even when we find ourselves being pruned back, or redeemed out of disheartening situations, He is always working to recreate us in His likeness, and tethering us to His desired outcome through faith and trust. He alone is the one sure thing that we need to be tied to...
So, whoever needs to hear this: I pray for a fresh revelation of the very character of Jesus Christ to be revealed in your situation. I pray that you see Him holding on to your rope tightly. As you pray, ask Him what "structure" needs to be built to in order to lay the foundations for the future He has secured for you. Then ask Holy Spirit to ignite the spark of creativity within your heart.
We find it easier to let go of the past when we can build toward our future. It is in this frame of mind where hope remains. Blessings!
