Each botanical in Comfort has a story. Many have valued for generations in traditional herbal and aromatic practices. We brought them together in a simple roll-on so that you can be intentional with your own practices and needs.
Jojoba Oil
Jojoba has long been valued in skin care for its emollient qualities. Technically a liquid wax rather than an oil, it closely complements the skin's natural oils and has traditionally been used to soften, condition, and protect dry skin. It gives Comfort its silky, easily absorbed base.
Coconut Oil
Coconut oil also has a long history of topical use to moisturize, soften, and protect the skin. In Comfort, it provides a smooth carrier for the botanical essential oils and helps the blend glide easily over the skin.
Lavender
Lavender has been used for centuries in European herbal traditions for relaxation, rest, skin care, and soothing aromatic preparations. Its gentle floral-herbal aroma also brings softness and balance to Comfort.
Frankincense
Frankincense has an extraordinary long history of use in traditional medicine, perfumery, and skin preperations. The aromatic resin of Boswellia trees has traditionally been valued to soothe the body while its warm, resinous scent has been used to encourage stillness and contemplation.
Helichrysum
Helichrysum–often called Immortelle or the "everlasting flower"–has a history of traditional Mediterranean use in preparations for the skin and for soothing physical discomfort. It's distinctive honeyed, herbaceous aroma gives Comfort some of its unique character.
Peppermint
Peppermint has a long history in traditional herbal preparations and message oils. Applied topically, when properly diluted, its naturally occuring menthol creates the familiar cooling sensation for which peppermint is known. Traditionally, this cooling quality has made peppermint popular in preparations used on tired or uncomfortable areas of the body.
Roman Chamomile
Roman Chamomile is valued as a gentle, calming herb. It has long been used in herbal preparations intended to soothe and care for the skin. Its sweet apple-like herbaceous aroma beautifully softens the sharper notes of peppermint and black pepper.
Black Pepper
Black pepper has been used for centuries in traditional healing systems, including Ayurveda. In aromatic message preparations, black pepper has traditionally been selected for its warming character and used on tired, stiff, or overworked areas of the body. Its warmth provides a beautiful counterpoint to peppermint's cooling sensation.
